Has it really been over a month since I posted last? I'd say I've been slacking but I haven't really, it's just that life has truly been a roller coaster and it seems silly to post about the weather when everything is uncertain.
So, I actually have big news- that most of you know already- but we're buying a house! We had no idea a month ago that it was even a possibility but we decided to see if we could get financed and were very surprised to find out that we could. So we actually have a contract on a very small 3 bedroom 1 bath in Franklin. We could purchase a larger home with 2 baths here but we really want to be closer to our church. We have felt very disconnected since we moved back and decided to go to Newsong so we're very happy to be closer. We mapped it last night and its just over 6 miles to church. Unfortunately it is over the river and through the woods so it will still take about 15 minutes to get there but that is much better than 32 miles one way. The house is a fixer so it's not much to look at on the inside but once we strip some wallpaper, scrape the "cottage cheese" off of the ceiling, prime everything (because it smells like smoke), and paint it will be very nice. We also want to re-do the kitchen, knock down 3/4 of a wall that separates the living room and the kitchen, re-do the bathroom and really just a ton of little projects that I'll list later when we get to them.
We're not home free though, the house still has to pass inspection and the appraisal so anything could happen still but we're looking at a closing date of October 11th so hopefully everything will work out fine. I'm excited for sure and even thought it's going to be a lot of work I'm looking forward to it.

Yippy!!! I've been wanting to call and find out whether or not your offer was accepted but haven't had a moment it seems. Can't wait to hear that it's yours!
Did you have a nice anniversary?
I can't believe I forgot to post about our anniversary! Actually I've been really sick for a week and a half with a sinus infection so we went to dinner and to Lowes to look at home improvement stuff (we're dorks). So, I think we'll have to try it again once the antibiotics I'm taking have kicked in and I'm feeling better.
Congratulations! That is big and exciting news! I have also wanted to call and find out more details of the event, but knew that you would probably post something when it was official! I look forward to helping out with anything you may need during the move and to also help with the house once you are in.
Since the closing is on the 11th does that mean you will not get to go to the farm with us?
Thanks, LaDonna I'm sure we'll definitely need help.
Yes, I'm still planning on going to the farm. Actually after seeing it online I can hardly wait to go.
We're completely excited for you, and thrilled it all came together so quickly. And, I can't believe we'll miss all the prep and the exciting move-in day!
And, I don't think you're dorks for looking at all the home improvement stuff on your anniversary date- this is your Dream In The Works right now...you and the love of your life are BUYING A HOUSE! In fact, going to Lowe's was very celebratory!
Congratualtions! I am so happy for you guys! Wish I loved closer to help you with the little guys while ya'll moved...... Take care and good luck!
You guys will love having a home of your own and something that you get to invest your time, creativity, and talents into to truly make it YOURS. I can't wait to see it.
